This visit is appropriate for school and other educational visits and can be adapted for all ages and groups.
Our World War II Visits are designed to give Key Stage 2 Pupils an opportunity to experience aspects of wartime life within an authentic environment. Moving around the house in small groups, experienced re-enactors will introduce them to key areas of study for life under wartime conditions.
These include the rationing of food, clothes and goods of all kinds and the way this affected everyday life. They will see how families spent their leisure time, whether at home or in the shelter and how they adapted to the needs of the times with Digging for Victory and Make Do and Mending.
Closing a morale boosting sing song, this visit will enable your pupils to reflect on the difference and similarities between then and now, through the sights, smells and sounds of the period.
